The Summit Roundtable is where a smaller group of 200 participants and observers will elaborate on the initial discussion points developed at the Pre-Summit Focus Group meetings held in July at the Ministry. The Roundtable will take place after lunch and will be held concurrently with the Learning Labs.

Participants for the Roundtable are selected based on their profile and portfolios in the company or organisation they represent.  They also include people that are interested in contributing to positive developments for women in the work sphere.

At this year’s Summit, a number of speakers will precipitate discussions by making short presentations of various aspects of “Shaping the Workplace of the Future, Together”.

These are expected to cover the following issues:-

The legal environment - bringing employment regulations and policies up to date from a legal and HR standpoint to more adequately suit today’s society where both men and women support their households and share in the care of the children and domestic responsibilities.

The gender environment - creating an equal opportunity workplace, where women can expect to be compensated equally for the same work, and have the same expectations of advancement based on their performance and proven capabilities.

The family friendly environment - creating workplace conditions that are sensitive to the responsibilities of male and female workers to their families - their children as well as aged parents and other dependants. Understanding the need for work-life balance to actually contribute to greater productivity and lower staff turnover.

The enabling workplace - towards a workplace environment that is sensitive to the needs of the disabled,  and which supports their desire for independence and to contribute effectively as part of the workforce.

We encourage you to participate in the Pre-Summit Focus Groups and Roundtable. If you feel that you would like to be involved in these deliberations, please write in to info@thewomenssummit.org or contact Justine at 79547030.
