SCHOLARSHIPS

In order to ensure that a wide cross-section of women are able to participate in the Summit, we have enlisted the support of a number of corporations to help provide scholarships or partial scholarships for participants to attend. These scholarships are extended to both men and women across the different employment sectors and includes NGOs. If you would like to apply for a scholarship to attend this year’s Summit, we encourage you to submit a registration form and highlight that you would like to be considered for a scholarship. Those who want to be considered for a scholarship are required to submitted an online or e-mailed registration form by August 15 2008. Participants will be emailed or faxed confirmed registration letters by August 18 2008. You will need to bring these letters to the Secretariat in order to register.

The number of scholarships we are able to offer will depend on the amount of support we receive from corporations.

As the number of scholarships is limited and there is no guarantee that your application will be successful, it may be a worthwhile option to enlist the support of your employer to attend. Certificates of Attendance will be awarded to all participants.

SUPPORTERS OF THE WOMEN’S SUMMIT 2008

This year, we are especially grateful to the corporations and organisations that have partnered the Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development to make this event possible. The main sponsors, Maybank and Astro made early pledges of support, and since then, many others have responded to the call for the funds for scholarships. The organisers and the Ministry are grateful for this demonstration of corporate citizenship.
