Women need to increase their participation in both government and private sectors.
WOMEN hold up half the sky, or so goes a famous Chinese saying but in reality, the facts tell a different story. The rate of women participation in the workforce in 2008 was 46% or about four million women. Neighbouring countries like Singapore and Brunei have higher women participation rates at 60% and 61% respectively. [Read more →]

Women meet to discuss issues for the 2009 Roundtable
This year a series of Pre-Summit Focus Group meetings were held at the Women’s Summit Secretariat from 24 - 26 June. Each of the three sessions was attended by 10 - 12 women representing organisations that are affiliated with the National Council of Women’s Organisations (NCWO).
